Saline Tattoo Removal
Non-laser tattoo removal
What is Saline Removal?
Saline removal is a procedure that uses a saline solution to lift permanent makeup pigment or tattoo ink out of the skin. It can be used to lighten or fully remove bad or unwanted pigmented areas.
The Li-FT® Saline Removal Solution is a non-chemical, non-acid, high salt based, fruit seed extract saline tattoo removal solution that is so effective it can lighten a tattoo or permanent makeup procedure to the point it is no longer visible. was formulated in an FDA approved USA Lab by the team of female Chemists at Li Pigments. We chose specific types of natural, clean salts and combined them in different percentages to achieve the ultimate saline removal solution and results. The salts are ground down to an exceptionally fine powder eliminating any grit and allowing quick and easy implantation and absorption. We added Aloe Vera and Calendula Extract to promote quicker healing and help prevent scarring. Keep reading for a full ingredient list.
How Does Saline Removal Work? It works by the process of Osmosis. Saline is salt and water. To simply put it, Osmosis is the natural and fascinating process of how water can actually move and flow from an area of lower salt amounts to an area of higher salt amounts. Our body contains a certain amount of salt and high amounts of water. So, when we implant a higher amount of salt in the area of the unwanted pigment then what exists in the body, the water will start moving upward to the higher amount of salt. The water moving upward to the higher amount of salt implanted will move and push the pigment upward as well. The pigment collects in the scab and when the scab falls off, the pigment collected will go off with the scab. That is how saline removal works.
The exact level of higher salt amounts needed in order to create the most effective movement upward was studied thoroughly by our chemist who also holds a degree in biology. We then tested Li-FT® in different salt percentages until we determined with 100 percent confidence, the Li-FT® saline solution is the smartest, highest tested and most effective saline solution for the purpose of lightening and removing botched ink and unwanted pigment.
Desired Results require a minimum of 3 sessions. In some cases more than 3 sessions will be required. There are so many variables that can affect the outcome of the removal.
This process requires patience and results can not be rushed each session is done a minimum of 60 days apart.
Why Is Non-Laser Tattoo Removal More Effective Than Laser?
- Less treatments needed therefore reducing cost.
- Pushes most of the Pigment out instead of having the body absorb pigment.
- Targets all colors including White.
- Doesn’t blister and less likely to scar.
- Safe for face.
- Specially formulated by Cosmetic Tattoo Pigment Company LI.
- Works on all Tattoos regardless of age or location.
- Less painful since we can use a topical anesthetic to numb you throughout procedure.
- Can target specific areas around a cover up.

The color white. Many cosmetic and tattoo pigments contains white, which is technically called titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide is used to create light colors. Titanium dioxide cannot absorb the laser energy and it will not lighten. Instead, the pigment tends to darken or turn black. Saline is not color sensitive and will not turn Titanium dioxide dark or black. The Li-FT® saline solution has proven over and over that it can successfully lighten and remove pigments that contain white

Your brow hair. Lasers present the risk of weakening, destroying and removing existing brow hair. Saline will never pose this risk. If brow hair is present, choose saline. Every brow hair counts and some are hanging on to their last few for dear life. Li-FT® has never cause a single brow hair to fall out.
Does Saline Work for Microblading? Yes. Saline removal works just as effectively for microblading as it does for traditional permanent makeup procedures. We have been exceptionally successful lightening and removing poorly done microbladed eyebrows.
Does Saline Work for Body Tattoos? Yes. The saline and the Li-FT® saline solution has been very effective in lightening and removing small body tattoos. Notice I say “small” tattoos. With the saline removal method, tattoo needles are used to implant the solution into the pigmented area, just as we implant pigment. Using needles and traditional implantation methods would not allow us to go over a large tattoo in a timely manner. For this reason, laser is recommended for large tattoos. A body tattoo that is the perfect size for saline removal is about the size of a deck of cards.
Is Saline Safe to Remove Bad Eyeliners? Not all saline solutions are safe or can be used for the removal of eyeliner. However, the Li-FT® saline solution is and it can be used to lighten and remove poorly done eyeliners. This was very important to us when formulating our solution. Teryn Darling is a world renown permanent makeup artist that is well known for her beautiful eyeliner work. She spent too many years turning away clients with bad eyeliners so it became her mission to make sure Li-FT® could be used for this manner. Because it was her mission, it became Li Pigment’s mission. Here we are today with hundreds of bad eyeliners lightened and removed credited to the safe, effectiveness of Li-FT® and the techniques Teryn mastered (which Khristine has trained under both in eyeliner and Li-FT technique).
How Is the Saline Solution Applied? The saline solution is implanted and tattooed right into the skin, directly into the area of the unwanted pigment just as pigment or ink is implanted into the skin to create beautiful eyebrows or a body tattoo. A machine or hand tool method can be used.
Can I have Saline Removal if I Already Had Laser Treatments? Yes, absolutely. Laser has not been successful for many people or it hurts way too much to continue so they seek out saline removal in hopes of better results and less discomfort. Saline removal and in particularly Li-FT® accomplishes both. Li-FT® will successfully lighten and remove pigment where laser failed to do so and it will be much more tolerable.
Does it Hurt? While everyone has a different threshold for discomfort or pain, most clients are quite comfortable during the entire procedure. Saline is salt and salt can sting. With that said, most technicians use a good numbing cream to pre-deaden the area before beginning the procedure and will apply an additional numbing agent during the procedure to keep the client comfortable. A small hand fan can be used to alleviate any stinging sensation. Every single client that has experienced laser removal before having a saline removal procedure claims that there is no comparison when it comes to laser vs. saline…laser hurts and hurts really bad. Saline removal is a piece of cake compared to laser.
What Can I Expect After the Procedure? Depending on the sensitivity of the skin, it may appear pink, very red or anywhere in between. The pink and redness can last up to three days before subsiding. It may feel slightly tender for up to three days. The area must remain clean, dry and no makeup applied to the area so a good scab can form. The pigment will be moving upward and collecting into the scab so scabbing is good and must be protected…no picking! The scabbing process is done in five to seven days. Technicians should be giving all clients a detailed and thorough healing information and instruction sheet.
How Many Sessions Does it Take? To be very honest, no one can predict how many sessions it will take to reach each clients individual goals. Just as lasers, including the best lasers available can take up to 10 sessions, so can saline removal. With that said, now that we have several thousand healed cases and data, the clients goals on average is being achieved in 3 to 4 sessions using the Li-FT® saline removal solution and technique.
How many sessions it will take depends on many factors; How deep was the pigment implanted? If the pigment was implanted too deep then more sessions may be needed. Is the color dark and solid? If so, this may require more sessions. Does the pigment contain titanium dioxide? If so, this may require more sessions. Is the skin thin or thick, oily or dry in the area of the unwanted pigment? Pigment tends to remove more quickly with skin that is thinner and drier. Does all of the pigment need to removed or does only a portion or percentage of the pigment need to be lightened or removed? In many cases, only a percentage or portion of the pigment needs to be removed in order to correct the shape or correct the color. How the client cares for the removal procedure during the healing process can also play a role in the results therefore how many sessions it may take.
Although a number of sessions cannot be guaranteed or predicted due to all the outside variables, what we can tell you with certainty, is that numerous technicians offering saline removal services are leaving the other saline brands and moving over to Li-FT® due to the effectiveness and results of Li-FT®.
